Privacy policy

Draft · Updated October 22, 2026

CornerWheel uses information about your open windows to help you switch between them. The app processes that information on your Mac. This policy also covers the services used by this website.

The app

CornerWheel does not upload your window information or include analytics. It has no accounts, advertising, or automatic crash-report uploads.

Accessibility access lets the app find and activate windows. It reads app names and identifiers, window titles, size and position, and whether a window is focused, hidden, or minimized. Titles can include document names or other personal information.

Window details and recent window order stay in memory while the app runs. CornerWheel does not save an activity history, take screenshots, read document contents, or record your typing. Pointer movements, clicks, scrolling, and navigation keys are used locally to operate the wheel.

Settings and diagnostics

Your preferences stay on your Mac: the chosen corner, timing, appearance, excluded apps, launch-at-login setting, and whether onboarding has been shown.

The app writes limited macOS diagnostic logs, such as permission status and event-monitor errors. Debug builds can also log performance timings. These logs contain no window titles or contents and are not uploaded by the app. macOS controls how long the logs remain.

This website

The demo uses sample windows and cannot access your Mac’s actual windows. Its settings reset when you reload the page. The site’s own code adds no analytics, advertising trackers, cookies, or persistent browser storage.

The site is hosted through ChatGPT Sites. Hosting receives ordinary request details, including your IP address, requested page, browser information, and request time. Access to a private site may use ChatGPT sign-in and its cookies. See OpenAI’s privacy policy.

The typeface is loaded from Google Fonts, so your browser sends Google a request that includes your IP address. See Google’s font privacy information. These services handle their own records and may process them outside your country.

Your controls

You can pause or quit CornerWheel, exclude apps from the wheel, and turn off launch at login. Accessibility access can be revoked in macOS System Settings. The app needs that permission to switch windows; it does not request Screen Recording, camera, or microphone access.

Quitting clears the app’s temporary window information. Resetting preferences or deleting the app may leave other local records, including onboarding settings, macOS permissions, and diagnostic logs. There is no CornerWheel server copy of your window data to delete.

Changes and contact

Changes to this policy will appear here with an updated date. Operator and public contact details are still being confirmed for the final policy.
